Shit Bikes; seen Monday in Aguascalientes

While the hipster rides their fixie with the saddle pointed to their front hub, the BMX rider does quite the opposite; rear of the saddle towards the rear hub. Do a wheelie!

Shit Bikes - BMX

We apologize for the poor composition, the sun was shining in our eyes during a late lunch break; next time we'll pay better attention to detail.

EDIT - the domain name is already taken; directs to Surly, could have guessed it.

Two-toned Columbia Jellybean before the Schwinn Stardust; steel is indeed real

The stuff people throw away, well, leave in the alley anyway. They're a few doors down from the CRCwest, if'n yer interested.

Jellybean & Stardust

A bit sloppy out now, we stepped in a deep puddle getting this amazing photo capture.

The Kiss that made him famous

We can say we knew him when he was just a yankee trucker-wannabe living in the cold, lonely confines of MPLS.

So Schreiner (right, or is it left?) has graduated from comedy college, earning himself a place on stage this past week in front of possibly a dozen laugh hungry revelers. Fortunately for the rest of us that a good Samaritan caught this escapade of merriment and none-too-soon posted into what should, based on viewers reactions thus far, be reclaimed hard drive space on some YouTube network far away.

Keep in mind this humour may not be suitable for you and it may indeed get you reprimanded or relieved from your job (we understand the pending DVD will include a laugh track as the sole extended feature):

ahem. clears throat. thanks for stopping by.

A few quick updates to get things back up and rolling:

Check out Dillon's photos and tour narrative; looks like he's having a blast and we're a bit envious of his travels thus far.

Next, perhaps it would be easier for Chris Skogen to make a list of who's not racing the Almonzo 100 this year; remember, postcards must be in by the end of the month or you're out of luck entirely. If you're already registered, don't hesitate to hit Chris up with a few bucks; he puts a lot of time and effort into the race and could use the assistance.

Yep, Marlin is still on his expeditions prior to the Apostle Islands push; love the photos and video.

Smile, the ice rutted streets are in better shape than they were just a few days ago; not great but better.

Finally, it's Hurl's birthday today; just sayin it might be a late night for a change.

loaded up and truckin, Portland style

Post-Surly Nick Sande's Big Dummy as seen during a Move By Bike in Portland, Oregon last weekend. Note the lack of snow and icy tire-rutted streets, as compared to the MPLS:

The Slow Way Around

Our friend Dillon Hodapp and his Masi are at the time of this publication on a flight to Bali in the pursuit of cycling through six countries in SE Asia. Dillon just finished his Master's degree in mechanical engineering and has a few bucks in his pocket and isn't coming back until he has to; oh to be young, unattached, and free of any debt. It was just a few months ago that we were discussing his ambition to cycle the great divide trail before his ambitions turned to a solo trek much farther from home; we commend Dillon on his courage and ambition and look forward to frequent updates.

Check out his gear and his bike packing tutorial; we'd rather see a few pieces of clothing used to protect the frame instead of the pipe insulation, but then we're not much against a few scratches or dings; though up til' now we've had excellent luck with skimping on the extra padding. Our prediction is that his insulation is 86'd on the flight back home.

According to his internet diary thing, "I will be updating this journal frequently during my trip, so be sure to check back regularly and tell your friends." The other night said that if the journal isn't updated in a while that it's perhaps time to start worrying; either way, good luck to you sir.

ice biking like it's 1937; a brief tour through the MN Historical Society

Five points for correctly naming the lake:

Then we've got these two expeditious riders; 600 miles, loaded up and truckin:

And finishing up with the 1930 Minneapolis cold sprint champ; smile for the camera Johnnie! Oh, and raise that saddle.

okay, it's a new year, we get it

The Handsome was out of commission for 3-4 days due to a frozen U-lock; we got the lock off, all is well for this winter riding wonder.

For those arguing that can stacking is an armchair sport, must we remind you that these same cans often lead to deadly consequences when not given the full respect the sport deserves?

Seriously, 14 cans; all fire escape routes were clear up to this point.
