Black Monday & Tuesday

This is what you've been waiting for. Go to Stroker Ace today (and tomorrow) and pick up a sweet pair of wool socks and matching American Apparel black t-shirt for the low price of US$30. Must stop by the shop; it's at 34th and Lyndale next to Twin Town Guitars. Stop by the CRC while you're there and get a cup of something to drink.

Stroker Ace closes at 6pm, so get on it.

Why are we doing this you ask? Well, after hearing the startling news this morning, it might just be time to throw in the towel.

another hit and run, another benefit to raise funds

We saw this flyer posted last night, did a search this morning and found a post on MBL:
"BEthEFIT"
broken ribs + broken collarbones + broken clavicles = lots of bills
7pm Monday November 23rd
West Bank Social Center
501 Cedar Ave Minneapolis
DRINKS, FOOD, RAFFLE, SILENT AUCTION
$5 donation at the door
MORE if you can afford it!
THANKS!~!!!

"Hit + Run = NO FUN"
If anyone knows Beth E., have her contact Zito, he got a bit of money from the state from his hit and run; there's a fund out there for this sort of thing - though it stinks an awful lot like godless socialism.

back to the points of the high life

So we are where we are, in this case nearing the end of the High Life points series. It's been a respectable effort, more than year of struggle got us our current 36540 points, at ten points a can; of course that's after we cashed in 7500 points for the sweet shirt that's broken the ice and cleared the way in innumerable otherwise deadlocked social engagements. Our only regret to date is the lack of points on the 18-packs, 16-, 24-, and 32-ounce cans. And let's not even bring up the absurdity of the points-less 7-ounce bottles.

These points, as amusing as they are to collect out of raging bonfires and dumpsters, ultimately require redemption, which leads us to the topic of choices: Dart board? LED Sign? Golf bag? We've already got a dart board, which is currently tied up in the round-robin alley tournament you've all been hearing about. LED sign looks cool, though it's not Neon. As far as the golf bag goes, we don't carry our own gear and we're not at all interested in making life easier on the help.

LED sign it is.

the weekend it cometh

Riding through a neighborhood at sunup this morning, some guy is on his front porch screaming up at the tree in his yard, "Get out of here!" he keeps screaming at a squawking black crow, seemingly taunting the shirtless man as he grew more and more irate. Smart bird.

Cyclocross race tomorrow up in Blaine.

h1n1 weekend

We were gonna go and head out this weekend on the bicycle, when all of a sudden came down with the swine flu again. Decided it best to take public transportation down to the MOA and spend the day trying to break the fever whilst shopping and enjoying the hell out of the log ride. Sneezed a bit on the escalator hand hold, then had a few Orange Julii before calling it a night and sleeping in the Ikea parking lot so we could assure ourselves of first dibs on some fresh Swedish breakfast. Boy we're feelin' great now though!

There was some riding in the woods a few days ago, it turns out. These just got sent in late on the AP wire; must of had the machine all jammed up. It figures!

The rest here.

And more here.

So it turns out a few items were left behind. If it's yours, contact the proper people or it gets thrown out, we've been told.

Thanks to the unnamed who went back and scrubbed the place clean. Next time pack out what you pack in; this ain't Nam, there are rules here.

Oh, and who was the woman that rode face first into the white pole at the top of the trail? Jesus.
