Hwood Cycles 2.0

Go check out Hollywood Cycles 2.0 and say hello to the 2000 Single Speed Champ, Jay Henderson.   H-wood was open in Bloomington for many years, but he finally got wise and moved up to the city, right off the Greenway on 31st Ave.  Two new tubes for ten-bucks, that's the best you're gonna find anywhere in the city, so mark it.

The shop is open for business, with a stack of bikes already brought in for repairs.  All the autographed jerseys and memorabilia will be hung up in the near future, so give him some time to finish setting up and return often.

The Birth Of A Tool. Part 1. Axe Making (by John Neeman)

Beautifully compiled video of a toolmaker in his element.  Fire, iron, wood, leather.  The sound is a must.

Post a day

I have to say, while I'm not going to shell out the cash for one, the Moonlander is a ton of fun to ride.  These both belong to Nate, who recently joined the rank of the 40-somethings, something in my near future as well.

Bandit Cross El Ocho

Props to Frayne at Bikejerks for hosting another Bandit Cross, this time being #8 and making a debut at Hidden Beach in Minneapolis.  There are no prizes other than the respect of your friends and angry sneers of the dog walkers around this fast packed course on Cedar Lake.  So put on your kit, power down, and above all, just have some clean fun.  Let's do this much more often!

Flash Mob Attacking Cyclists - this time we've got a felony arrest

Police apprehend two individuals out of about seven from a flash mob attacking three cyclists on Nicollet mall this past Friday, March 23, 2012 at 7:45pm.  Antonio DeWayne Jones (DOB 2-22-1992 - 20 years old) of Brooklyn Park and "J.C.Z." (name not given due to being 16 years of age) both in a group that attacked bicyclists, throwing one from his bike, breaking his jaw, and a hoard of other bullshit you would think is not possible in our society.  Makes me fucking sick.

Read the 3-page complaint from the 4th Judicial District below.

What's sad is that the drug posession is what got him the felony, the riot third degree and assault fifth degree are only misdemeanors.

Rock-It Bicycle Delivery

Rock-It has been going at it for a few weeks now and they're keeping busy.  We've called 'em for a beer delivery - just be ready to offer them one when they show.  It's legit.

If you haven't called Rock-It bicycle delivery yet, then you're just not lazy enough.  Call 'em for beer, restaurant take out, frozen pizzas, smokes, a fresh shower curtain, kitty litter, there's nothing they won't deliver.

612-HOLY-24-7 is the number for your quick and friendly delivery inside MPLS proper, and don't forget to tip the staff.

Fridge snapshot on leap day

I realized last night as I was reaching into the fridge that I had a hell of a lot to offer myself in the thirst department.  Not complaining, just saying.
